Chirk Castle was built about 1300 by the architect of Beaumaris Castle, so they are similar, although Beaumaris was never finished.

Chirk is unusual as it is not a ruin, but it has been altered a few times

The entrance is at the Home Farm – an 18th century model farm

The castle is on top of the hill, with the stables just below

17th century long gallery

Servants’ Hall

Dungeons

Next: Hartlebury Castle, Kidderminster
