6th May 2020                       4.4 miles            Map of walk

We walked to Wallbridge, then Butterrow, returning via  Thrupp and the Horns

The former Bell Hotel at Wallbridge

We followed the River Frome to Capel’s Mill

Next we took the path above the railway line to Butterrow Hill and looked over to the Horns Valley, where we will to go later

The Old Toll House, Butterrow

Part of this is called Tudor House

This was once the Lamb Inn

We went along Butterrow Lane and saw these

This was once a pub

Providence Cottage has only one small window at the back (we were told), which is surprising as it faces the lovely view

This used to be Butterrow School – you can’t see it from the lane, but the owner let us have a look

We walked down through the fields to Thrupp, with views towards Stroud

Crossing the canal via Jubilee Bridge

This was once the Malakoff Inn on London Road

Then up to Thrupp Lane, along to Claypits Lane, steep up and then through the woods to the Horns Valley.

then over Stroud – the fields are full of buttercups
