We stayed for one night in Augsburg on the way home from Austria.

There are some Dutch style buildings.

Hercules Fountain

St Anne’s Church, originated in 1321

Goldsmith chapel 1420

Town Hall 1615–1624, the first building in the world with more than six storeys, rebuilt after WW2

The Fuggerei, the oldest social housing settlement in existence, founded in 1516. Donated by the Fugger family, by 1523, 52 houses had been built (now 67 cottages). The rent has not changed – one Guilden per year and prayers three times a day.

There are several towers and some city walls

The next day we went by train to Cologne  for one night. Then it was trains to Brussels, London and back to Stroud. What a wonderful holiday!
