EAST PORTLEMOUTH           map of walk

We parked at a super viewpoint at East Portlemouth, overlooking the Salcombe Estuary

We walked steeply down, then along by the estuary to sandy Mill Bay

Opposite is Bolt Head, where we will go another day

Then up, on to the cliffs and around Limebury Point

The view east

To the lookout point at Gara Rock, where we climbed up and turned inland, back to the car

…………………………………………………………………………………………….

After lunch we drove to EAST PRAWLE                                      map of walk  4 miles

and walked across to Maceley and Elender Coves

Looking back at Gammon Head, and Bolt Head in the background

Prawle Point

Standing stones

Coastguard lookout on the top

We were intrigued by the red sandstone cliffs but grey pebble beach

Once upon a time the sea level was higher and came up to the cliffs at the back

Next: Bigbury on Sea and Burgh Island
