Ferries go to the beautiful island of Capri, where there are no cars, just electric buggies for luggage etc, and buses.

Sorrento, high up on the cliffs, from Marina Piccolo

From the harbour we took the funicular to Capri town

and walked to the Natural Arch, which is huge, then to a grotto

View towards the mainland

There was lots of Bougainvillea with vivid colours as well as jasmine

and then looked down on the Faraglioni rocks

and a zigzag path down the cliff

Next we took an exciting ride up hairpin bends on a tiny bus to Anacapri and had a lovely ride on a chair lift to the top of Monte Solaro,

View of Capri town from Monte Solaro

and walked back down to Anacapri

We had time to take a bus to a lighthouse at Punta Carena then returned by bus to the harbour, for the ferry back to Sorrento.
